The local nonprofit, the Ridgway Chautauqua Society, was formed to save, revitalize and operate the almost 100-year-old Sherbino Theater as a not-for-profit community venue for theater, film, and the performing arts.

Great communities have great community resources. The Ridgway Chautauqua Society is a community-based 501(c)3 focused on fulfilling Ridgway’s vision of creating an ecologically responsible community where learning, creativity and culture are at its core. And at the heart of that vision lies the Sherbino Theater.
The success of the Sherbino Theater depends upon the generosity of our financial supporters. We wish to thank attorneys Irwin Borof and Scott Williams for their pro-bono assistance helping the Ridgway Chautauqua Society receive its 501(c)3 status. This is a significant step forward for the Society and the Sherbino Theater–it provides donors of goods and services the opportunity to qualify for a federal income tax deduction and a Colorado Enterprise Zone tax credit.
